Post Secret: Childhood

I was just about to write my meta-post, when I found this post secret.

I found it very fitting, as we have been discussing what age a person becomes an adult at.

  1. Hey dani,
As I am a fellow reader of PostSecret (it is probably my favorite thing ever!) I came across this post secret representing a different form of childhood.

(sorry the link is so long it wouldn't let me post a photo)
It got me thinking, how are the myths about childhood used to create a false image of a perfect childhood?

  2. Anna,

I think you were the one who got me hooked on post secret!

Wow, that one is a completely different view. The one I posted is more about trying to hang on to childhood, where the one you posted is more trying to just almost get through growing up. This person is clearly having a hard time of it, and feels the need to fabricate a childhood.

I wonder how often this kind of thing happens, where one is trying to create the standard "movie-like" youth?
